At 1832 hrs the gambling meeting was called to order by President Rothecker. Gambling manager Bjorkman gave his
report for January. The checkbook and gambling report were available for review to the members. Motion was made
to accept the report by Novak, 2nd by Sloan, passed. The march budget was presented for approval. Motion made
to accept the budget, 2nd passed. Lawful purpose expenditures, City of St Paul fee , City of Cottage Grove tax,
City of Cottage Grove license fee. A motion was made to pay these fees, 2nd passed. Requests for funds, Sloan for
Inver Grove Heights $2,560, Boy Scout Troop #174 (St Paul mandatory donation, $100), Park Hockey Association $500,
request from Dave Kernal for a donation to Special Olympics LETR of $450 for the Brainerd FOP Lodge Polar Bear
Plunge, Cuyuna Range Reading Fund, $188. A motion by J. Ellison to approve and send on to membership meeting, 2nd
by F. Anderson, passed. (lg1004 available for review).With no further gambling business a motion to adjourn was
made then 2nd passed.
At 1914 hrs the general membership meeting was called to order by President Rothecker. Roll call of officers, all
lodge officers were present. A motion was made to waive reading of last months minutes, it was 2nd passed. Secretary
Dalbec gave the treasurers report. We currently have in our account. Bills to be paid, and reimbursement to Rick
Novak for plunge expenses. The checkbook and bank statement were available for review. A motion was made by S.
Ellison and 2nd by Sloan to accept the report, passed. Our lodge gained 16 new members in January/February, and
55 members have not yet renewed their membership. Reminders will again be going out to those members. Gambling
report was presented to the members by D.
Bjorkman. A motion was made by F. Anderson to accept the budget report, 2nd by Novak, passed. A motion was made
to pay the fees as presented, 2nd passed. A motion was made to pay the donations, it was 2nd, passed. D. Bjorkman
advised that the membership to Allied Charities is now due, cost is $200. A motion was made by D. Kernal, 2nd
by Sloan to pay the dues, of $200. Passed. New business, Rothecker and Bjorkman spoke on the State Lodge Meeting
they attended in St Cloud. The state convention will again be held in Brainerd at Craguns, this will be in April.
Dalbec advised he will be unable to attend this year. Old business, discussion on the White Bear Lake Polar Bear
Plunge. It raised over $64,000 and had 228 plungers. Our thanks again go out to PleasureLand for providing us again
with a motor home for Lodge 1 to use at the event, we appreciate their support of Lodge 1 and Special Olympics.
President Rothecker gave a opening speech for the event, it was coldly received. Golf, the date is set for May
30 at Oak Glen in Stillwater. Cost per player is $90, with a percentage of the increase to start the Jerry Vick
Scholarship Fund for our Lodge 1 members kids. Sickness and distress, none to report. Next meeting is set for March
8 at Gabes, 1800 hrs gambling meeting, 1900 general membership meeting. A motion was made to adjourn, 2nd passed.
