Minnesota FOP Lodge 1 Meeting

Gambling meeting was called to order at 1805 hrs. Present were Dalbec, Wyslick, Sloan, Huffman, Bjorkman, D. Collins, and R. Novak. The April budget was presented, which included a payment to LeClair for March, $ for April. Requests for funding, $750 Special Olympics Duluth Polar Bear Plunge, March of Dimes, $500, $1000 for Fred Fanning Benefit, and $10,000 for Veterans Rest Camp Association Inc. Motion made to approve the budget and gambling report, move it on to general meeting. 2nd, passed. Motion made to approve the requests for approval at general meeting, 2nd passed. Bjorkman reported that the gambling board has approved of our corrections to our account. Motion to adjourn, 2nd passed.


General membership meeting called to order at 1900 hours. Now present are Titus, and Slifko. Motion to waive reading of last month's minutes, 2nd passed. Treasurer's report given by Dalbec in our account with no large bills outstanding. Motion by Novak, 2nd by Collins to accept the report. Passed. Gambling report, Motion to approve the budget, 2nd passed. Motion to approve the gambling report, 2nd passed. Motion to approve $750 to Special Olympics, 2nd passed. Motion to approve $100 to March of Dimes, 2nd passed. Motion to approve $1000 to the Fred Fanning Benefit, 2nd passed. Motion to accept in principle the request for $10,000, depending on a way to give to the charity over several years. A member of the Vets organization will be requested to attend the next meeting to discuss the donation. Officer's report, Bjorkman reported on the upcoming National convention. Committee report, Titus volunteered to organize the golf tournament, which will be held on May 27 at Oak Glen in Stillwater. Motion to approve signing of the contract with a $500 payment to Oak Glen, 2nd passed. Sloan and Slifko will assist Dave with the event. New business, Titus reported on the states attempt to freeze police and firefighters salaries. He can be reached at the St Paul Police Federation, dtitus@sppdfederation.com concerning this matter. He would like email address's to notify members when legislation meeting come up on this important matter to get officers to attend. No other business, meeting adjourned at 2034 hrs,
