At 1800 hrs the gambling meeting was called to order by President Rothecker. Gambling manager Bjorkman gave the report for February, 2005. Overall performance was poor for both sites. Total expenses, -$11,557.59, state taxes & fees -$10147.13. No profit after taxes and fees. No shortages, $5 over. Motion made to accept the report was made and 2nd, passed. Request for funding, Huffman for City of Newport, $4000, Bjorkman $100 for Ben Doran Foundation, City of St Paul tax $76.63, City of Cottage Grove tax $675.95. Motion made to send the requests on to the general membership meeting for discussion and approval made and 2nd passed. in our gambling account which is considered low. A request for a donation to the St Paul Park Legion to support a gift box campaign to our troops was denied, the legion has a gambling license and it is illegal to donate to another gambling organization. Request to review a possible donation to a MDA event. This was turned down for lack of support. Motion made to adjourn the meeting was made and 2nd. (lg1004 available for review)


1900 hrs the membership meeting was called to order by President Rothecker. A motion was made to waive reading of last months minutes, 2nd passed. Secretary /Treasurer Dalbec gave the financial report for the lodge. Currently we have in our account. This would be but the down payment of $500 was made to Oak Glen for the golf tournament May 31. The bank statement and checkbook were available for review. Motion made to accept the report and 2nd, passed. Gambling. The budget for April was given. Motion made to approve the budget, 2nd passed. The requests for funding were reviewed. The City of Newport request was amended to $2000.from $4000 Huffman stated the money would be used to equip their officers with TASERS. He said the city is having money problems and would like the lodge to assist with the money to purchase them. Bjorkman made the motion to approve $2000 and 2nd by Huffman. Passed by the membership. Motion made to approve the other requests as given was made and 2nd, passed. Some discussion on looking for more sites for our pull tab booths. We only cleared $24, in January, and lost money in February. Some more sites will be needed. Should any member know of a bar or restaurant which would care to have a booth, please let Rothecker or Bjorkman know. Old business, Golf. Letters for donations have gone out and we have received four door prizes so far. Registration forms for the tournament can be downloaded at our website, www.mnfop1.org. Some discussion on having it next year at a different site. Next, the April FOP Conference is coming up for Craguns April 17 -19th. We can have up to 11 delegates to attend. Bjorkman is running again for 1st vice president and Dalbec for Sgt at arms.

A motion was made to approve paying out of our general fund up to $1000 for rooms and registration fees for our delegates to attend. It was 2nd and passed. New business, our next two meeting dates will be held at Gabes By The Park. Gabes has a separate meeting room for us to use. We will try to keep our meeting location to one site instead of moving it around. The new management at Gabes was interested in being our lodge meeting site. Located at 991 N Lexington Parkway, St Paul. With no further business, health and welfare of members. Dalbec reported that one of our members , Jerry Salmey father passed away. Bjorkman reported that Nick Wasylik also had a death in his family. Our condolences to both families and a motion was made and 2nd to donate $100 to a charity of choice in each families name. 2nd passed. Dalbec reported that 1st VP Pat Sloans wife Jeannette had a baby girl on Monday. Motion made to purchase a $25 gift certificate from our general fund for the Sloan's, 2nd passed. With no further business motion was made to adjourn the meeting, 2nd passed.
