At 1800 hours President Rothecker called the gambling meeting to order. Gambling Manager Bjorkman gave his report
for October. There was some improvement with the receipts over the previous month. A motion was made by Novak to
accept the report, 2nd by Huffman, passed. The budget was presented for December . (lg1004 available for review.)
A motion was made to accept the budget as given, 2nd passed. There were no funding requests presented. Bjorkman
told the group that we need to donate to a St Paul charity to comply with St Paul ordinance. Boy Scout Troop 173
was selected and will be given the money. Bjorkman advised the group that we should start to look for another gambling
manager to replace him. He will no longer be the gambling manager in 2008. With no further business a motion to
adjourn was made then 2nd, passed.
1900 hours President Rothecker called the general membership meeting to order. All lodge officers were in attendance
accept for the Sgt at arms. A motion was made to waive reading of last month's minutes, 2nd passed. Secretary Dalbec
gave the treasurers report. Our general account currently has . The first half per capita was sent in to National
in the amount of. Dues notices have gone out for 2007 dues. We currently have 295 members listed in our lodge.
A motion was made to accept the report, 2nd passed. Gambling, Don Bjorkman gave his report to the general membership.
A motion was made to accept the report, 2nd passed. He presented the budget for December, a motion was made to
approve the budget, 2nd passed. A motion was made to donate to the Boy Scouts, 2nd passed. Discussion on the gambling
managers position. The person who takes the job needs to be a member of our lodge, just being a FOP member would
not do. Notice of this position will be sent out to all lodge members. This is a paid position and all training
will be provided at lodge expense. Old business, golf. Rothecker will again be looking for a better deal to have
our Jerry Vick golf tournament. He will be checking with several courses to see if they can accommodate a larger
group. The Polar Bear Plunge will be coming up January 13, 2007. Our lodge will not be able to sponsor the $75
plunge fee per fop member this year since our gambling receipts are not at a level to allow this. Bjorkman said
that we should be able to meet our obligations to Special Olympics and LEMA if our net profits keep improving this
winter. We will still have a hot tub and a motor home at the event with food and beverage for FOP members to use
and enjoy. We hope that there will be a good Lodge 1 turnout for this event. New business. The lodge Christmas
party will be held at Alary`s on December 13. Our lodge will provide food and beverage for the party. VP Sloan
will check with Al on the availability of the grill. Sickness and distress, none to report. A motion was made to
adjourn until December 13, 2006 at 1800 hours at Alary`s, 2nd passed.
