Lodge 1 Meeting
October 12, 2005
Gabes by the Park, St Paul
1800 hours the gambling meeting was called to order by President Rothecker. Gambling manager Bjorkman gave the
report for September. Gross receipts for both locatios. Motion was made to accept the report, 2nd passed. Budget
for November (lg1004 available). Motion was made to approve the budget, 2nd passed. Requests, Mason Jar Fund $100,
Mount AiryBoys/Girls Club $100. Also taxes to St Paul $66.08, and Cottage Grove $826.24. Motion was made to approve
the donations, 2nd passed. All items would be sent on to the general membership meeting. Motion made to adjourn
the gambling meeting, 2nd passed.
The general membership meeting was called to order at 1903 hrs by President Rothecker. A motion was made to waive
reading of last months minutes, 2nd passed. Secretary Dalbec gave the treasurers report. The checkbook and last
months bank statement were available for review. A motion was made to accept the report was made and 2nd, passed.
Dalbec also advised that the state lodge has not sent the original national per capita tax form to me. Also we
would only pay the first half of the membership tax, not the full amount as requested by the state lodge. The payments
due by November 1st. Gambling, the gambling manager gave the report to the general membership. A motion was made
to approve the report, 2nd passed. The budget was presented and a motion was made to approve the budget, 2nd passed.
The checkbook and overall performance report was available for review. A motion was made to pay the requests as
given, along with the payments. It was 2nd and passed.
New business, elections. November meeting will be elections for the position of 1st Vice President, Secretary Treasurer,
and Trustee. Anyone who wants to run for office can attend that meeting .Old business. Special Olympics, planning
is still underway for the upcoming Law Enforcement Polar Bear Plunge. Next meeting is set for November 7 at the
White Bear Lake VFW. Lodge 1 will be there again with a motor home and hot tub for our members to use. January
21 is the date for the plunge. The Special Olympics Draft Party is coming up in November. We will donate $2500
to that event. That will come out of the $10,000 we have pledged to Special Olympics for both the plunge and draft
party. Special Olympics will provide the lodge with VIPs tickets to the event. The national conference is coming
up October 26 and run through the weekend. They are still looking for volunteers for the event. Rothecker gave
his report on the golf tournament. We will start mailing out flyers to local business by next month asking for
hole sponsorships.
Sickness and distress. One of our members, Dan Kreager is in St Marys Hospital in Duluth. Our best wishes go out
to him and his family for a full recovery. He can be contacted through www.caringbridge.com, go to visitor and
type in dankreager. The Kreager family will be contacted to see what assistance our lodge can give them. With no
further business a motion was made to adjourn, 2nd passed. Next meeting is set for November 9 at Gabes, St Paul.
